    Hörmann Supramatic + UAP1: Error 6.

    Dear Forum,

I see many skilled Loxone users are using Hörmann UAP1 (Universaladapterplatine/Universal Adapter Print). I do *not* use Loxone, but hope for you kindness to help me anyway. (If this is still the wrong forum, may you know a better Hörmann forum?)

I have Supramatic E2 garage opener running well for 15 years.
Now I have bought a new UAP1. The plan is to have up/down pushbutton inside the house. The pushbuttons also have 2x LEDs that shall indicate open/closed state.(*)

    My Installation Process:
    1. Assembled the UAP1.
    2. Connected the UAP1 to the Supramatic "bus".
    3. Opened/closed the garage on the Supramatic buttons. All 3 relays (and on-print LEDs) worked as expected.
    4. Disconnect the UAP1 - Now the Supramatic does not work - gives error "6."
    5. Reconnect the UAP1 - it works again(!). And so on...

So the issue is: The Supramatic now ONLY works when UAP1 is connected. (Not a good situation because if the UAP1 lose power, is later uninstalled etc. the garage can't be opened.)

    My Tests:
Error "6." in the manual means "Closed circuit - Close wicket door." (I don't have a wicket door or other safety equipment.)
On the Supramatic the "X30" socket always had a jumper installed - OK.
On the UAP1 the pins 12+13 has a jumper from factory - OK.

I have tried to 1) remove power from Supramatic, 2) remove/insert X30 jumper, 3) remove insert 12+13 jumper.

    Question:
    Has anyone experienced this?
How will Supramatic run without UAP1?
Maybe an owner of UAP1 could kindly remove BUS and see if Supramatic still runs?

    Thanks! Martin.

*) This is a similar installation as the Hörmann IT4 contact, except that I don't setup light+lock functions.

    Hello,

    I use a Supramatic motor and a UAP1 together.
At the moment I never got this error.
I will try to do this tomorrow and then will inform you.

      Hello again,

I have the same situation when I remove the bus cable,
      error 6 (Supramatic E2)
      error 7 (Supramatic E3)
occurs and with the Hörmann remote control no functionality.

X30 Jumper is installed on both motors.

After you unplug the bus cable you have to do this.

        Supramatic E2 reset
        The remote control remains trained.
        1. Unplug the cable
        2. PRG push and hold
        3. Plug in the cable
        4. 8
        5. C
        6. J
        7. 0. flash
        8. PRG push
        9. L flashes slow
        10. ↑ push
        11. Motor drive up and stop
        12. L flashes slow
        13. ↓ push
        14. Motor drive up and down
        15. L flashes fast
        16. ↓ push
        17. _ on the display
        18. ↓ push
        19. Door closes
        20. Finish
After that you can connect the bus cable and everything works well again.

The procedure with a Supramatic E3 is different.

Hi Andreas, thank you so much for testing.

I can also reset/retrain the Supramatic to get it back i to working state without UAP1 connected.
It is good to know that my unit is not defect (just poor design), and there is an escape route in the future.

I was reflecting, if the UAP1 - when first connected - is just changing the "Safety device settings" (Menu 4). But I checked it, and its still set to factory settings (0.+2.+5.).

Conclusion: Connect/disconnect of the UAP1 bus seems to set some *internal hidden state*, that can only be unset by factory reset. By design? Who knows.

Let's close the thread here, again many thanks.
          Martin
