I have a question regarding my Squeezebox; I'm posting it here as I know there are quite some people here with a Squeezebox system.
In Windows 10, there is an option to cast music to a device using MediaPlayer and uPNP/DLNA. In LMS, I have installed the uPNP/DLNA plugin and my Squeezeboxes show up in the list as devices to which I can cast. However, the Squeezebox does not play: it shows the track title, but also shows "http 1.1 401 unauthorized".
I'm trying to cast from a machine different from the one that is running LMS. Has anyone here been successful at casting to a Squeezebox? Any thoughts?
I have found that there are some changes in the dlna implementation in Windows 10, and it seems that it worked properly under Windows 7. I'm using the latest official version of LMS (7.7.5 I think), but maybe one of the more recent nightlies behaves differently?
Full reason why I need it: I'm not so much interested in casting music, but I get the same error message when trying StreamWhatYouHear. I would love to use this tool to direct audio from my pc to a Squeezebox, as I have no speakers connected to the pc and no available audio inputs on the amplifier to which the Squeezebox is connected. I suspect the reason StreamWhatYouHear is not working is the same as why it does not work from Windows 10.
