    Outdoor movement sensor (PIR)

I would like to buy some outdoor movement sensors.
I need one that can switch 24V if i'm correct. Are there any reasonably priced available?
The types that switch a 230V output won't work with Loxone if I'm correct.

I really like the Gira Tectiv 220 ° or the Steinel IS180. (These are 230V.)
Can I maybe connect this to an optocoupler?
    I found an 230VAC to 24VDC optocoupler like the Wago 859-772 (€23.85 on www.eibmarkt.com)?
Or can I also connect the sensor to this cheap optocoupler (+-€1.50) ?

Yes you need 24V PIR for Loxone digital Input.

Nearly all Outddor-PIR works with 230V.
I use the the Easylux rc 230i

If you want to use 230V Versions at first you need 2 Cable one for 230V and one for 24V Signal. It's not allowed to do the in one cable.
The Wago will work for your ideal the cheap EBay Relais will not.

you can use the vast choice of 240v outdoor PIRs by using normal 3 core mains wiring, and using a coupling relay back at your cabinet/loxone install - a relay with 240v coil is used to switch the 24v across the contacts to a loxone input

ultra slim din relays are around £10 such as
      http://www.newark.com/finder/93-01-7...ail/dp/08X7319 with the appropriate relay

        That's another really good idea.
But you need a 4 wired Cable PE/N/P/P(back)
Maybe you mean that with with 3 wire core...

If you are not afraid of a very simple modification, than you may look at a Niko PIR sensor 350-20158. http://www2.niko.eu/enus/article/350-20158

This is a 230VAC outdoor PIR but works internally on 24VDC, you need to desolder one leg of a big resistor (no need to remove it) and solder one wire on the PCB. This results in a fully functioning 24VDC PIR for your Loxone.

What you do is actually bypassing the resistor which is normally fed by 230VAC and you place 24VDC on the rectifier bridge. (I marked + & - on it on the PCB if you notice.)

I have 2 of them working fine, they cost around 59Euro I believe and you can adjust the sensitivity and time delay on the front of the sensor.

This 1-channel outdoor motion detector is especially suitable for use in a driveway or garden. It was designed to be surface mounted on a wall or partition. The detection range can be set to between 0 and 13 m and can be adapted using the cover mask. The sensor is surface-mounted on the wall. The device has a built-in light sensor and switches the lighting on and off automatically. Manual operation is also possible using the N.C. push button. After the pre-set time delay, the light is switched off automatically. This motion detector has an IP54 protection degree and complies with the European directives for EMC and safety, EN 60669-2-1. Finishing colour: black.

            Wow. Great find!
That might be the best solution for me.

I was already planning on using these small Panasonic sensors in combination with a 5V to 24V optocoupler indoors.
And I was thinking of installing the same ones in a blank Niko wall plate by drilling a small hole in it.
But I have no idea how well they work outdoors.

I see that you are a fellow Belgian.
            Any tips? Forums/webshops/...?

I think I bought them through DMLights. But My-electro.be also have them and they delivered me excellent service in the past. The nice thing about this Niko is that it's made for outdoor. If I'm not mistaken, there is a white and black model.

We sell these detectors already modified by us: http://www.smartbusinesstools.be/sho...one-via-i-o-73
Also another model, and both in black and white.

The other model allows you to turn the head to a side, is easier to install, and cables are completely hidden.

I've searched for what you need and i found from NDR Electric they have quite a variety of outdoor movement sensors, together with outdoor lightning aswell

                      Any other options?

I've ordered 1 piece of the Niko outdoor motion sensor, to check if it is still able to modify from 230v AC to 24v DC.
On loxwiki they noticed the PCB design has changes since then
I will keep you guys posted about the Niko modification.

But in the mean time, are there any other dark outdoor motion sensors working on 24v or able to modify from 230v AC to 24v DC?
                      Many thanks!

Before mod, measured the output after the bridge rectifier.
When motion detected (relay powered on) +/- 27v DC
When no motion detected (relay powered off) +/- 7v DC

I guess this could be related as it is a simple small transformerless power supply.

Previous advice to remove some components of the new PCB design sounds good, as they all are related to the “transformerless power supply”, to test it I removed:
                        • Suppression Capacitor 0,33uF mpx 250v (yellow)
                        • Resitor 68 ohm
                        • Metal Oxide Varistor vdr 10d471k (blue)
                        • Bridge rectifier mb10s (black)

But without luck, 24V DC is supplied with an external PSU.
                        No sign of life…
