Spotify will introduce HiFi - CD-quality lossless plan

Spotify HiFi will be available later this year and “will deliver music in CD-quality, lossless audio format to your device and Spotify Connect-enabled speakers"
    Source: https://www.theverge.com/2021/2/22/2...ing-hd-quality

Not that I'm much excited about it as I deeply believe human ears can't hear the difference between lossy format (such as 320kbps Ogg Vorbis in Spotify Premium) and lossless (such as flac or any hi-res formats such as Tidal HiFi and MQA).

But the question is: will Audioserver support it?
I also wonder if LMS (part of MusicServer4Home) will support it.

    What do you think?

The LMS can handle Flac Audio, so I'm sure that this will be implement as soon Spotify offers it.
Important is also that the system can handle it at the output like Hires sound cards.

It should comes during the year, only on selected markets, and a price was also missing until now.
    So many open points.

After I have tested Tidal HiFi with expensive Equipment Nubert/Technics ~9000€, I can say the I can't hear any difference between 320kb Ogg and Flac. Maybe my ears are to old

But there are humans who can hear the difference, for 99.9% of the rest it's marketing.

So therefore the MusicServer4Home will support it as soon Spotty-Plugin hast implemented it.
