    Installation failed

Hello, I'm trying install LoxBerry on RaspBerry Pi 4 B (4 GB) exactly by installation steps and the first boot of Loxberry image failed with error

Starting dphys-swapfile - set up, mount/unmount, and delete a swap file

    I used the latest loxberry-image-rasppi-2.2.0c_pippin.img

Can you please help me with this issue? Thank you

Absolutely first boot? Then ignore the error - your SDCard isn't resized at this time. Have you tried to connect via Browser and run the Wizard?

Yes, the first boot after write of image on SD card. The problem is, that the boot phase stuks on this error, resp. the error disappears and the black screen is shown. The loxberry is not available on network, I don't know the IP address, so I can't access to the wizzard via browser.

I formatted SD card via Raspberry Pi Imager (SD CARD BOOT) and one more again rewrited the latest Loxberry image file on this SD card. I recorded an video what happend if I power on the Raspberry Pi. Please check if it is normal or not. The green and red LED are ligting more than 30 minutes and the screen is black. Should I still wait???

        Thank you. I'm frustrated a lot :-(

Please use Win32DiskImager as described in our installation instructions.
Raspberry Pi Imager is to install Raspberry OS, no experience if this also works with our image.

I used Win32DiskImager as described in your installation instructions. I used RAspberry Pi Imager before just for formating SD card.

Ok. SD Card isn’t needed to be formatted as an image overwrites everything.

You may try to download from another mirror. Possibly the image is damaged. You are aware of that the image is zipped with 7-Zip and needs to be unpacked before writing to SD card with Win32DiskImager?
The oldest image you can use is the 2.0 image, as this is the first one that supports Raspberry Pi 4.

If you want, you can explain exactly all the steps you are doing to write the image, with screenshots of all steps. It seems that you are missing something.
You shouldn't do anything else with the SD card than write the image with Win32Diskimager. Do not format it within Windows or things like that, and do not do anything to the SD with any other software. Be sure to "eject" the drive/card in Windows before removing it from the reader.

              Regards, Christian

This is really unusual. Here's the Download Link for the older image: https://download.loxberry.de/stable/...0_bilbo.img.7z

It's no problem to use this one since you can then online update your LoxBerry to the latest version. But the image will not boot on Raspberry 4 8 GB (4 GB version is fine).

Prof.Mobilux Thank you for the bilbo image, but the bilbo image cannot boot too :-( The boot says immediately

                  start4.elf: is not compatible.

Seems that your board is maybe to new for the old image. The bootloader is from august this year. Maybe they changed something...

do you have a good and stable power supply? This was often a problem in the past.

maxbe you can try to download the newest image again with an alternate browser? Try to save it somewhere else in your harddrive. Then flash image again and verify it with Win32Diskimager (I think there's on option for that). Then please try to boot again.

If it again fails please again make a screenshot.

Gyus, it seems to be solved, I changed to arm frequency to 800 and version 2.2 works like a charm now!

Therefore, seems to be a problem with your power supply.

                          Hi all
                          Similar issue here.
I tried also to setup loxberry on Raspi 4 B (2GB) variant. It has the same Bootloader as the one from AldaFalda.

PowerSupply is the offical one (https://www.raspberrypi.com/products...-power-supply/)

Also, as I understood, default frequency is 700Mhz (?) - 800MHz would mean overlocking then + higher power consume.
When I change the arm frquency to 800, I was also not able to get it running.
Gast : did made further changes/modifications?

Hi, no I didn't any further changes. Are you sure, that the frequency parameter is changed? Please note, that the comment mark (#) at the start of the line with frequency parameter must be deleted from the config file. I know, that's clear, but I made this mistake :-(

I am another person affected by this problem. Also bootloader from April 29 2021. I tried everything suggested here, also used SD card with Loxberry updated to the latest version that works fine in Raspberry 3 machine. Any idea how to fix that?
