Hi, I´ve got a new Pi 4 Model B 2GB rev.1.5 (b03115) bought a few days ago. Seems that Loxberry image 2.2.0c is not up to date to cover this revision. Pi does not boot from SD card. When I connect monitor it shows a message "This board requires new software". I tried to download image from different servers, and also tried to write image by Win32DiskImager as well as by Raspberry Pi Imager several times. Tried to change ARM frequency to a different value, as well as to add to config arm_boost=1. All without success. This PI works with the original OS (Bullseye) without any problems. Can anybody from Loxberry developers confirm?

You should try different values for "over_voltage" and "arm_freq" in "config.txt". Start with:

over_voltage=2
arm_freq=1800

Hi Eisi2003, I tried several combinations of over_volatage and arm_freq. Does not work. I see on the boot screen, above "This board requires newer software" as well "start4.elf is not compatible" What messages did you get when your Pi did not boot?

Thus, Rev 1.5 requires a newer version of the operating system. The current Loxberry image will not run on this board.

Seems so. Next image will be released with loxBerry 3.0. But this takes some more time.

Hey all,

the next image with LoxBerry 3.0 will take some more time I am afraid. But I did a quick'n'dirty hack to the existing image - maybe this is enough to get the new Pi4 boot with it. Unfortunately I cannot test here - please have a try and let me know if it works:

It says loxberry login: but keyboard and network is not working.:-(
i am a network technic. so network settings should not be the problem.

for wifi i have to create a network.txt on the device is this correct?

Hi, I tried new image, but facing problem with "Failed to start - Raise network interfaces". LAN or Wifi via network.txt does not work. still same behaviour. Unfortunately keyboard does not work, I´m unable to open "systemctl". Any ideas?

Show your network.txt here. And please test with Standard Raspbian Image that your hardware is OK. It is very unusual that the keyboard does not work. As you see here in the feedback, ethernet and wifi also works with the new image.

Habe gesehen das die überarbeitetet Version auf einem anderem Mirror liegt.
Loxberry startet jetzt durch aber ich habe den gleichen Fehler wie hmates. Netzwerk konnte nicht gestartet werden und Tastatur geht auch nicht. Es sieht so aus, als hätten die USB Ports noch nicht mal Strom!

Das Standard Raspbian Image läuft ohne Probleme. USB Ports gehen auch.

Hi, Thanks for your support in advance! Below see my network.txt content. Only doubt I have is wpa-psk in the file vs wpa2 security I have on my wifi. I´m running Unifi, there is no possibility to choose weaker security than wpa2. Standard Raspbian image is running without problem.

Is it possible to make the setup process with the further image (c) on a pi 3, login as root and make a Distupgrade and plug the sd-card in a pi4???
With the (d) image I got the same error.
By the way, my pi is connect via LAN Kabel and I have the same problems like hmates.

Ok, seems that the "quick'n'dirty" hack I did to the existing image doens't work. Most properly because of missing firmware/drivers for the USB stack on that new Pi4. So I am afraid you all have to wait for the next "real" image.
