Hi zusammen,
ich bekomme noch Neuinstallation des loxberry ebenfalls den Modbus Gateway Plugin nicht mehr ans laufen.
Habe ebenfalls beim Installieren des Plugins die Fehlermeldung
ERROR: (Some) Packages could not be installed.
Anschließend startet der Dienst auch nicht korrekt.

This is already mentioned in this topic. All of the previous messages talk about it. There is also already an issue, but the original developer has stopped maintenance of the repository.
If you want a quick solution, you could consider installing loxberry on a dietpi based on armv7 (this is mentioned above).
If you are a bit of a developer, you could also contribute and try to help me (and others) fixing it on armv8 (see previous message for more details.)

yes, I have seen the other posts. I was hoping that in the meantime some work had been done on the solution or that there was workaround.
Unfortunately, I’m not deep enough into software development to create a solution myself.
It’s probably easiest if I go back to installing Bullseye instead of Bookworm; then it should work again.

I've solved it by replacing the loxberry modbus gateway with a real gateway. This is so cheap. It barely costs more than the usb converter, but it comes with a web interface that is far easier to integrate and can modify more settings.
I'm using the 4CH device that allows you to configure 4 seperate modbus channels: https://www.amazon.com.be/dp/B0CQYGD...fed_asin_title
It was a bit unclear in the beginning, but you should just set up 4 static IP addresses, and then you can individually configure their modbus settings.

Waveshare is a good product I'm using the 4-Channel USB device.. but the cost of this device you mentioned is quite different to mine... I'm glad that I was able to get it runing through mbusd - see below

I was able to get it done on my RasPi5 - I used the procedure as described on the mbusd git hub channel:

$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr ..

Positives Feedback badmage vielen Dank!
Ein paar Hürden gab es (musste erst cmake installieren) aber es läuft jetzt!
Die Fehlermeldung ERROR: (Some) Packages could not be installed. bei Installation tritt weiterhin auf aber es funktioniert trotzdem.

Hallo,
ich hatte das selbe Problem mit LB 3.0 (ERROR: (Some) Packages could not be installed.). Habe aber nun auf Git-Hub eine neue Version gefunden mit der die Installation wieder ohne Problem funktioniert.

Ev. kann man diese wieder als Download für den Loxberry hinzufügen.

Das heißt die 0.13 bzw. 0.14 gibts anscheinend auch schon, läuft auf Bookworm, ohne den Workaround von badmage?

ich habe das 0.13 plugin. funktioniert auch soweit, aber es wird nur ein USB-RS485-Konverter von aliexpress erkannt. habe ein usb hub und 2 von den USB-RS485-Konvertern angeschlossen. es wird aber nur einer erkannt. Auch wenn ich 2 separate usb plätze und nicht über das usb hub anschliese. wird nur einer erkannt.
hat jemand das selbe problem oder eine lösung? kann man überhaupt mit einem usb verteilen ?

Hallo zusammen

Vor längerer Zeit habe ich über das Plugin erfolgreich einen 3-Phasenzähler von Finder (7E.78.8.400.0212) eingebunden. Das hat nun über ein Jahr problemlos funktioniert. Seit einigen Tagen empfange ich nun aber keine Werte mehr. Ich habe dann festgestellt, das scheinbar der USB/RS485-Wandler defekt ist (rote LED hat durchgehend geleuchtet). Glücklicherweise hatte ich mir mal einen Ersatz bestellt und diesen fix eingebaut und konfiguriert, die Werte wurden gleich wieder übertragen. Leider war die Freude von kurzer Dauer, die Werte wurde genau ein Mal übertragen und dann nicht mehr.

Auch wenn ich das PlugIn oder den kompletten Loxberry neu starte, werden die Werte genau ein Mal übertragen.

ich steh grad ziemlich auf dem Schlauch, hat jemand eine Idee woran das liegen kann?

Ich nutze die WaveShare Gateways in fast jedem Projekt.
Für 30€ und einem Stromverbrauch <0,5W braucht man nicht mehr lange überlegen.

Die Dinger laufen bei mir jetzt seit Jahren, ohne ein Störung.
Da mach Loxone selber deutlich mehr Probleme als die kleinen Dinger.
Einzig als mein Switch mal ausgefallen ist, wurde für wenige Stunden keine Daten übertragen. Netzwerk halt.
