Will this method of setting persistant USB audio cards work?

    https://github.com/dh1tw/remoteAudio...evices-(Linux)

Sometimes when I reboot my device or end up reinstalling MS4L (like I just did with the move to Debian 10), the USB cards mount in a different order.

I was thinking about using the above linked method to permanently assign the USB ports to a certain order, which I could then replicate on future installs and keep my channels in order.

Before I went down this path - would be helpful to know whether it is worthwhile or not.

The Problem with the most Soundcard is that they have the same Vendor and idProduct so it is not possible to creat a udev rule.

That only can happens after a new installation, and than there is a easy way to change it. go to Soundcard and change the device id.

in the past i even searched for a solution on this.
Binding the ID to a specific soundcard will not work, as no soundcard i checked had a unique identification.
The only way i found was to use the physical USB port to get the ID bound so something useful, but don't ask my how to do this, i gave up after a while.

but as hismastersvoice already wrote, a new mapping might only happen after a installation of a new system.

I'd suggest that even permanent mapping of USB ports would be useful since you could then replicate that mapping on a subsequent install or move to a different system with a bit less fuss. Not a huge deal either way.
