Turn off lights if there is enough natural light

I have a question regarding a possible configuration.
I know that if a light is turned on by the motion sensor will turn off automatically after a while, but :

if we turn on a light in the morning, and if we do not use the room for hours after that, even if the exterior natural light is very powerful, the system is not smart enough to turn this off. It looks like a waste of energy. I would have expected, that even if a light is open intentionally by a switch, but there is enough lux from the exterior light coming through the windows to have this turned off, especially if you do not detect movement in the room.

    Hi,

I agree. Sometimes we turn the light on automatically or for the psychological effect, even though it does not contribute to the illumination of the room.

It would be nice to have a configuration where we at least get the warning / message that the difference of the inner and out illumination source is below some efficiency limit. Even better if it turns off automatically, of course.

This is one logic block (comparator, or the equal blocks), to turn off the light.

Aber wie unterscheidet ihr Lux Kunstlicht von Lux Sonnenlicht....? 🤔

Das ist eine interessante Frage. Nach meinem Verständnis meinst du mit Ersterem eine externe (nicht mit dem smart home verbundene) Lichtquelle, richtig?

(We are in the English area)

I don’t think, Clubsport thought about an independent light Source.

Think of the situation, that your controlled light is turned on. How would you know, that turning that light off will have enough environment light? Or other way round, how would you measure the environment light only, if you currently have the light on?

I made the experience that the natural light has a much higher lux-value than artificial light. If you have a light sensor in the room and put a higher lux value to the "off"-condition than the artificial light can ever produce, it might solve the problem. Of course it depends on the position of the lights and the light sensor. If you have a light sensor somewhere on your roof or outside wall, that value might be good as well to turn off the light. The second approach however does not detect closed curtains/blinds or shutters.
