Experience with sun blinds end positions

    Hello everyone,

I've been fiddling around with my sunblinds.
They were set up all right, correct end position etc.

But now I have 2 flowerpots standing to my window now and thus I would like my sunblind end position to stop a bit earlier so that my plants don't get damaged.

I have been trying to change the end position via Loxone config (Openingtime OpD and Closingtime Cld) but that did not change the end position.

Then I went to the loxone app and started working with the end position (see printscreen).
Can anybody tell me how this actually works? Because adjusting the times in the app doesn't seem to work either.

And to make things even worse, my blinds now no longer stop at the original end. It just keeps rolling down until it's out of 'blind' as to speak.

I tried reloading a previous version in the loxone config and load it in the MS but that doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Would the problem be resolved with installing a backup from the Microserver?

The blocks do reference drives therefore you cannot adjust this by the running time.
Furthermore, you cannot trust the position that Loxone „thinks“ it is, as at a Miniserver restart, the real position may differ from the „known“ position, and the reference drive may go down more as expected.

For this reason, you should not place any barriers for the blinds.

If you need to place things there, do not use the Shading block but a simple up/down switch without any automatic.

I had same issues with my electric movie screen that had to stop before it crashes to the table. I now do this by an own timer, and further logic that it cannot be moved down after a Miniserver restart (needs to be moved up first).

      Hey there Christian,

Thanks for the reply, it's much appreciated.

I get what your saying and I'll stick to it when setting up the blinds.

The thing is though that my blinds regulator (software side) seems to be no longer well set up.

Would you have any idea as to how I can get them to function as they did before?

Have you tried to delete the block, and to create a new one?

I tried but nothing changed. It's still not functioning as it did before I started fiddling with it.

It almost seems that the blinds have been reprogrammed and hard baked into Loxone. I suspect that the end position screen from the app has something to do with it. But to be quite honest it seems a pretty straight forward thing: set up seconds to go up, seconds to go down. Done. But it seems it's not that easy.

I also wonder what's the use of the 'up and down simultaneously' button. It's because of this I wonder if I did something wrong or forgot to set something up.

The Up/Down Simultaneous button is to switch some kinds/makes of blinds to the factory programming mode (non-electronic blinds may die).
It is to program the end positions of the integrated motor - that is what the installer does initially after installation, usually with his own device.

That was it Christian! You got me thinking. If an installer uses his own device, this 'set end position' screen in the app is loxone's alternative to the installers device.
Only thing I had to do now was look up my screen motor (Somfy Altus WT) and the corresponding set-up process. I could emulate this without any problem in the app.

Now I was able to set my end position a bit higher than originally and thus leaving my flowerpots untainted. Wonderfull! Thanks for your help Christian.

If anyone should read this in the future, steps I followed:

Go to loxone app 'set end position' screen
Hold down 'up and down simultaneously button' until screen moves one short time up and down
Hold up for 3 seconds to confirm the way the screen moves is correct
Place the screen in the most up right position that you want by using the up button
To confirm most up right position: press 0.5s down, release, immediately followed by 3sec of down
Place the screen in the most down right position that you want by using the down button
To confirm most down right position: press 0.5s up, release, immediately followed by 3sec of up
End programming by pressing 'up and down simultaneously button' until screen moves one short time up and down
