How do I generate a Miniserver Token? (node-red-contrib-loxone)

    Dear forum members,

I have been playing with Loxone config for a year now, and it took me only only half a year to realize that LXconfig is not enough
First, I enhanced my setup with Loxberry - works great out of the box, I am a very happy user.
Later, I found out about HomeAssistant with node-red, and immediately fell in love. I have made it part of my home automation stack, as it complements the Loxone config with vast number of options.

Now comes my problem: I am trying to connect node-red with Loxone. I found the node-red extension node-red-contrib-loxone, which was written by pmayer. This seems to do exactly what I want, only thing is that it requires a so called Miniserver Token. I spent the better part of this weekend to generate one, read all available documentation, but to no avail. I can collect all the needed information from the miniserver, but I am falling short when it comes to generating the token.

Is there anyone out there would would point me to a step-by-step guide how to generate the token?
    Many thanks in advance!

I think you have misunderstood something with node-red-contrib-loxone (or you haven't installed node-red properly). You don't need to generate a Miniserver Token to deploy node-red-contrib-loxone. Simply install the Loxone node from the Palette Manager in Node-Red.

Then in the Node settings, fill in Miniserver IP and Port, Loxone Username and Password. Finally select 'Token (default)' from the drop-down menu with Keepalive whatever you desire (I use every 60s without issue).

Deploy the flow, then build whatever logic you desire (followed by another Deploy when finished).

If it's not working, it could be a problem of Authorized Users/Groups in Loxone. Ensure the Loxone user entered in Node-Red is authorised to change whatever control you are attempting to link (from the Permissions setting in the Properties of the applicable Loxone block).

      Oh my god, thank you!!!

I saw the "Caution" box in the miniserver setup screen, and thought I had to generate the token myself

Connection to the miniserver works perfectly now.
