New app notifications

So I installed the latest config-update and the new app-update. I've my burglar alarm set up to activate immediately when I enter the building (ie opening the outer door) without any delay. As such when I open the door, my NFC Code Touch will start blinking and beeping to remind me to turn the alarm off. As of the update, with the silent alarm our phones will immediately activate a horrible burglar alarm (which I like for the burglar alarm) without any delay. I went and set the silent alarm delay to 30s, but that way when I open the door, nothing happens. I don't know if the alarm is armed or not, I'm unlikely to turn it off since there is no blinking or beeping from the NFC code Touch.
I would very much like some sort of two stage notification. 1 being a gentle notify, silent alarm activated and 2 audible alarm activated with the horrible burglar alarm sound.
I created a support ticket but got lead down the garden path. I'm a bit reluctant to start reprogramming my NFC code touch. Am I the only one or did I miss something in the config?
