    Intelligent Temperature Controller

    Hi all,

You find here the video of Loxone - here.

Since almost a week I'm trying to figure out how it works and to put in practice.

To heat or to cool, I had to put two block-functions. Is that so?

Did already someone of you try it?

as far as i can work out, this block is to help with overall heating/cooling demand at the floor or house level rather than the room level. it takes the heating / cooling inputs from the calendar heating and cooling periods. in the past, installers will have devised some logic to sum heating demand from the IRCs using memory blocks, and used the output to drive the manifold circulator pump and boiler on/off/pump, and would have used a heating curve and mixing valve controller to implement external temperature compensation and manifold temperature control.

      Hi Duncan,

Is it still under development or is it ready?

Do you have a "full scale" example of it?

i havnt been able to get it to work, at least not how i would like, so i use my own logic regarding boiler/manifold demand and temperature control

Let's say the temperature dropped to -2 °C (outside) in the middle of Septembre. According to the Miniserver we are still in the cooling period.

Let's say also that the temperatures in the house dropped as well to 3 or 4 °C. There is no heating. I've to devise a system so that the heating may go on.

So I did a simulation with the Intelligent Temp. Controller. Still the same it doesn't start the heating system. I think it is still connected with heating/cooling calendars.
          IMHO these calendars are useless.

          Does someone have another opinion?

i cant get this function block to work at all, so instead, i have the cooling period set to 1 day in july for the uk, and adjust the set points down in the summer months. along with a disable system that uses the early exit input of the IRC to only reach setback/eco temperature - that way the heating is on all the time, but 'disabled' back to economy temperature during the summer, and is easy to boost up the scheduled or high temperature as needed.

if you remove the cooling period altogether, the IRCs dont work and show an error message

i got some guidance from loxone and got this block to work, but discovered an issue which would stop it being useful as a central drive for manifold pumps and boilder demand - if you swap an IRC mode from auto modes to manual heat mode, say for a boost, the ITC block switches off, and there is no manifold/boiler demand drive. you can get round this by using the boost input of the ITC, but it drives the manifold temp to the maximum, and requires memory links from each IRC back to the ITC

Would it be possible to a screenshot of your system? Or just a generic one.
